Since the age of nine, Jay has been a fixture at the racetrack, though his path to the front of the grid has been anything but conventional. In an industry dominated by the traditional karting-to-cars pipeline, Jay has forged his own trail through a multi-discipline approach that included drifting, track and motorkhana, and has shaped him into a uniquely adaptable driver.
Jay’s development is built on a foundation of variety and technical precision. By ignoring the conventional karting path in favor of piloting multiple vehicle types across various disciplines, he has gained an intuitive understanding of car control that few his age can match. This versatility is bolstered by simulator training and a physical fitness program.
Now 16 years old, Jay has reached a definitive turning point., and he is now focused on stepping up to state-level motorsport in 2026, with a view to the Australian Rally Championship in 2027.
After an electrifying start to the Victorian season which saw Jay take second outright at the Boisdale Rally Sprint before finishing a strong 19th outright at the arduous Mitta Mountain Rally, the team have decided to enter the Tasmanian Rally Championship.
With the condensed calendar and all events being pace noted, the team see this as a perfect training ground for the young rally driver.
Penrite Oil, Page Hire of Devonport and SimSchool have already locked in to support Jay and Steve and the team are currently seeking more partners to support the 2026 championship effort.

Tasmania is world-famous in the rally community because the roads are technical, the base is clay and the forest roads fast.
